2026 DFC
Scholarship winners
Each year DFC provides scholarships to youth in Somerset County to attend summer camp. This promotes healthy alternative activities for youth and encourages them to make healthy choices. Here are the 2026 winners, Congratulations we hope you have a great time at camp!
Our vision is all youth becoming healthy, productive citizens in the county and attending healthy alternative activities like summer camp is a positive step for these youth.
Drug Free Communities Mission:
To promote healthy drug free living for all Somerset County Residents. Vision: All youth becoming healthy, productive citizens in the community. How To Get Involved: Monthly Board meetings are held the 3rd Thursday of the month at the Somerset County Vo Tech Center. Shanksville SADD/TRU
Annual Health Fair
Shanksville SADD/TRU students held their annual health fair for students in PK-8th grade. Students were educated in health and wellness to promote a healthy lifestyle.
SCA staff along with Twin Lakes Center's prevention staff has the elementary students play a " Why Animals Don't smoke" game and received a coloring book. MS/HS students played a Jeopardy game to test their drug and alcohol knowledge. It was a great day!

Bell Ringing 2025
The Somerset SCA volunteers annually for bell ringing, all proceeds benefit local families through the Salvation Army.
